I. Understanding Functional Kinesiology

Let's start with the basics to see how this holistic approach can support your unique healing journey.

What is Functional Kinesiology?

Functional Kinesiology is a complementary therapy that uses muscle testing to understand what's happenning in your body - physically, emotionally and energetically. We work with the body's wisdom to identify imbalances, and support healing from the inside out. Whether you're feeling stressed, low on energy, emotionally overwhelmed, or even experiencing physical symptoms - like headaches or digestive issues - Functional Kinesiology can help bring insight and relief. It's like listening to the messages your body has been trying to tell you.

Why is it called holistic therapy?

A holistic therapy approach addresses the whole person: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Unlike traditional therapies that focus on isolated symptoms, holistic therapy aims to find and correct underlying imbalances affecting the body and mind as a whole.

How is it different from going to the doctor?

Functional Kinesiology is a complementary therapy that supports your body's ability to heal. It doesn't replace medical treatment. While doctors diagnose and treat disease, Functional Kinesiology focuses on identifying imbalances and promoting long-term wellbeing. I work alongside conventional care, and will refer you to a medical professional if needed.

Does it work? Is it just a placebo?

Functional Kinesiology focuses on identifying imbalances based on evidence-based physiological responses, and heals using the body's own healing ability.

Just like other therapies, positive outcomes are expected if a client is ready to heal, and is willing to put in the work necessary.

Kinesiology is not a cure-all, but its unique holistic approach often makes it feel like it.

As with other therapies, it's important to choose the appropriate care the client needs; if I feel like Kinesiology is not the right answer to a client's problems, I will refer them to the appropriate care they require.

II. Your Journey & Healing

Discover how we listen to your body's unique story to unlock your innate power to heal and thrive.

Is Functional Kinesiology right for me?

In today's fast-paced world, finding balance and maintaining harmony in our lives can feel overwhelming. Sometimes we simply don't know where to start.

That's where functional kinesiology can offer real support. It provides a wide range of tools to help you reconnect with what your body truly needs.

You might need to release stored tension-something I support using gentle, effective stress-release techniques.

Think of your body as a complex energy network. When this system is blocked - whether by emotional stress or physical imbalances - it can affect how you feel, think, and move through daily life.

For example, if you often struggle with headaches or digestive discomfort, food intolerance may be a contributing factor.

What problems can it address?

Functional Kinesiology can help with:

  • Emotional issues like anxiety, stress, and trauma processing
  • Physical concerns such as chronic pain, tension, and injuries
  • Supporting neurodivergent individuals' care plans
  • Digestive problems, food sensitivities, and dietary imbalances
  • Hormonal issues like mood swings or menopause symptoms
  • When other treatments haven't provided relief

If your concern is outside my scope, I'll refer you to an appropriate specialist.

I feel stuck or overwhelmed - can it help?

Yes. Many people come to Functional Kinesiology when they feel stuck, burned out, or emotionally drained. By identifying and releasing physical and emotional blockages, this therapy can help you regain clarity, energy, and a renewed sense of purpose.

What if I've tried everything else?

Functional Kinesiology can often help when other approaches haven't brought relief. By exploring the unique interplay of your physical, emotional, and energetic health, we may uncover and address root causes that have been overlooked.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. Functional Kinesiology can be adapted for children and may help with issues such as emotional stress, learning difficulties, digestive problems, or behavioral concerns. I always ensure a gentle, age-appropriate approach.

Where is the practice located?

The practice is located in New Ash Green, close to Sevenoaks, Dartford, and Gravesend. It's accessible by car and public transport, with free parking available on-site. As this is a home-based practice, the exact address will be provided upon booking.

What should I expect during my first session?

In your first session, we will capture your medical history, perform an initial muscle test, conduct Emotional Stress Release (ESR), and perform basic food testing. We will also address any specific health concerns you have.

How long is each session?

The first session lasts between 90-120 minutes, while recurring sessions last between 60-90 minutes, depending on your individual needs.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people see improvements after just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support to maintain balance and address deeper issues.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily. This makes it easier to perform muscle tests and ensures your comfort throughout the session.

Do you offer online sessions?

While muscle testing requires in-person visits for accurate results, I provide online follow-up support to discuss your progress, adjust dietary plans, or offer emotional guidance.

Your care doesn't end when you leave my practice - I am committed to supporting you beyond each session to help you achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Can you help with a diet plan?

Yes. I am trained in nutrition and can test for food sensitivities and imbalances.

As part of the sessions, I do food sensitivity testing.

Based on your results, I can recommend dietary adjustments, provide sample meal ideas, and suggest foods to include or avoid.

My goal is to help you support your health through nutrition tailored to your needs.

Can you prescribe medicine?

No, but as a Kinesiologist I can refer you to a specialist practice if I see that it's needed.

I can, however, identify and recommend which supplements or adaptogens would assist with a client's care plan the best.
